Carsem update in the context of covid-19




Dear Customer,


In light of the increasing spread of covid-19 virus worldwide, I wish to provide an update to you on the recent developments in Carsem on this matter.

Our priority has always been the health and safety of our employees, their families and the communities. We have been extremely fortunate that none of our employees in Asia, Europe or America have contracted the virus since the beginning of the year when the pandemic started. However, it has come to my attention that a few of our employees in Malaysia have tested positive in recent days.

Carsem swiftly identified and isolated the affected areas, carried out contact tracing and immediately arranged to have 100% of the employees from these affected areas for swab test. In addition, the relevant health authorities have been notified and Carsem has begun cleaning/disinfecting process of the entire affected area.

To follow the best practices and ensure complete protection, we will use the pre-planned annual plant maintenance shutdown schedule to carry out additional professional de-contamination activities for the premise.

We are concerned for the affected employees and their families, and we have dedicated nurses & medical staff to follow up closely on their health conditions and are providing continuous support to help them remain calm and to recover well.

While Carsem team is working on securing the health of our employees by taking these additional preventive measures, Carsem will continue to give our best efforts to meet our delivery commitment to you.

As of 23rd December 2020, all the employees of the affected areas have successfully undergone the swab test. Carsem will continue to keep you informed and updated. Looking forward to your continuous support and co-operation.
