LTX Announces Production Testing of Microtune's Bluetooth Wireless Silicon on the Fusion Test Platform
LTX and Carsem enable Microtune to meet aggressive time to market requirements while lowering cost of test on the Fusion CX

WESTWOOD, Mass., April 2, 2002 Ñ LTX Corporation (Nasdaq: LTXX), a leading supplier of semiconductor test solutions, today announced that its Fusion CX test system has been successfully implemented to test the wireless Bluetoothª devices of Microtuneª, Inc. (NASDAQ: TUNE), a worldwide radio frequency (RF) silicon and systems leader.Ê Production testing of these devices is taking place at Carsem Semiconductor, a leading provider of turnkey packaging and testing services to the semiconductor industry, which recently purchased the Fusion CX to meet customer demand.

"Microtune came to LTX with a significant challenge Ð we were preparing to release our highly integrated Bluetooth wireless silicon to production with aggressive time-to-market requirements and a strict cost-of-test mandate," noted Hock Law, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Microtune's Wireless Connectivity Business Unit. "LTX answered the challenge with a test solution that met both our technology and business objectives, while enabling us to maintain a competitive edge."Ê

"The Fusion CX offered advanced capabilities that provided rapid test program development and production implementation in a cost effective configuration," continued Doug Schertzer, Director of Operations for Microtune. "LTX's experienced RF team worked seamlessly with Microtune and Carsem, our production test subcontractor. Through working with LTX, we met our production release deadline and maintained our stringent quality and reduced our cost of test."
